ANALYSIS OF SEQUENCE LENGTH

NARRATIVE RESULTS

Two-way mixed ANOVA analysis showed an overall significant increase in the number of actions per sequence from day 7 to day 17 of training (F(1,14) = 158.282, p < 0.001). However,
there was also a day x age interaction (F(1,14) = 40.03, p < 0.001), indicating that the magnitude of the effect was significantly influenced by the age of the mice. Simple effects
analysis (separate one-way RM ANOVA) confirmed that both young and aged mice significantly increased the number of elements in their sequences, although to a different extent (Young:
F(1,7) = 108.562, p < 0.001; Aged: F(1,7) = 106.664, p < 0.001).
