ANALYSIS OF SEQUENCE DURATION

NARRATIVE RESULTS

Two-way mixed ANOVA analysis showed an overall significant increase in the latency of the sequences from day 7 to day 17 of training (F(1,14) = 18.667, p < 0.01), although there was a
significant day x age interaction (F(1,14) = 8.368, p < 0.05), indicating that this increase was largely affected by the age of the mice. Simple effects analysis (separate one-way ANOVAs)
confirmed that only young mice significantly extended the time of action (F(1,7) = 18.376, p < 0.01), whereas aged animals remained with the invariable sequence latencies across training
F(1,7) = 1.745, p = 0.228)
